GBTLL Novice thru Midget Regular Season Ends
Submitted By Steve Posluns on Sunday, January 29, 2012
The Georgian Bay Triangle Local League (GBTLL) regular season came to a close on January 28 for Novice thru Midget age groups. All of Oro's teams had strong seasons including:
- Novice: a strong finish with 7 straight wins, finishing 3rd overall and giving up fewer goals than any other team;
- Atom: 3 teams in the top 12 of 24, all finishing with winning records;

- Peewee: 3 teams in the top 8 of 19, including first and second place, one team finishing with fewest goals against and another with most goals for;
- Bantam: 3 teams in the top 7 of 22, including first and third place, one team finishing with fewest goals against;
- Midget: 2 teams in the top 7 of 21, including a first place finish with most goals for and fewest against.

Congratulations to all team players, officials and of course to the fans for their support! Who can remember when so many teams shared so much success in the same season?

Playoff matchups are being finalized on January 29th. The first playoff series will be best of 3 in most cases and needs to be completed by February 12th. Keep an eye on the website for schedule details as games will start during the coming week.

GBTLL playoffs feature a round robin for Novice followed by a championship series for the top teams. Atom thru Midget playoffs break the teams in each division into two pools - AB for the top finishers (8, 10, 12) and CD for the remainder. Teams that win their first series in the AB and CD pools will compete for A or C championships respectively. Teams that lose their first series will similarly compete for B or D championships. The second and subsequent playoff rounds are elimination series.

Best of luck to all teams in the playoffs.
