We are very proud that we have been providing a free goalie clinic on Wednesdays since September. Jason Hooper from the Orillia Goalie Academy runs the sessions and the attendance has been fantastic, with lots of improvement and development in goalies of all ages. The purpose of the goalie clinic is for goalie development only,
it is not a shooting clinic or for the development of players. The goalie clinic is open to all Oro MHA goalies and players that are interested in trying the goalie position. Goalies must have full proper ice hockey goalie equipment to participate.
For the goalie clinic to operate, we do require players to help by participating in shooting drills and following the directions of the Goalie Coach who is in charge of the clinic. If parents are interested in having their child help at the goalie clinic they can send an email to development@orominorhockey. They will need to provide the full name and current team for their child.
The players will be invited by the Director of Development based on their skill level and past experience with helping at the goalie clinics. The Director will create a schedule the week prior and notify the players selected to ensure that we have the correct amount of players scheduled.
Players that are not scheduled to help will not be allowed to participate in the clinic.
Thanks to Tim Lang, Kate Shoebridge, and Chris Alarie for their time spent helping the clinic to run smoothly.
