Oro Tyke 2 Keeps Undefeated Streak Alive!
Tyke 2 continues to roll along with a win and tie over the past 2 weekends

The boys were very excited to have a rematch against Tyke 3 who they defeated in the tournament finals.  Despite the 8-3 score in the finals the game was much closer and they knew they would be in for a tough game again.  The score was deadlocked at 4 late in the third period before Connor and Ayden were able to score and seal the win 6-4.  Connor with 3, Ayden with 2 and Noah rounded out the scoring.

Over the past weekend the team travelled to Coldwater for another rematch looking for a better result than the 2-2 tie a few weeks earlier.  The team got off to a great start taking the early lead when Connor pounced on a rebound after the goalie made a pad save on Noah's initial shot.  Connor then added to the lead when he picked up a defensive zone clearing pass from Brett to skate in alone on the Coldwater goalie beating him on the stick side.
Coldwater closed the gap to 1 before Colton restored the 2 goal cushion with a great individual effort.  Picking up the puck just inside the Coldwater blueline, Colton charged to the net and fired a low shot past the goalie as he was falling.
Despite a 3-1 lead and carrying most of the play through the first period Coldwater was able to get back within 1 before Oro exploded with 2 goals.  Ayden, on a long breakaway rush beat the Coldwater goalie followed by Connor with his own breakaway goal to give the team a commanding 5-2 lead.
A desperate Coldwater team started applying the pressure and it was all the boys could do to hang on.  3 goals in a row including the tying goal with 17 seconds remaining.

The team has now gone 8 games without a loss including the tournament, a dramatic shift from the first few games of the season.  Each player is showing improvement with every shift, they are understanding the concepts being taught in practice and are playing like a team.  The commitment to defence is impressive; Brett, Nick, Malcolm, Luca and Sam are all to be commended for their strong play.  I know the coaches and parents are all eager for the next game, Saturday in Wasaga against the Stars.
