Oro has kept up their strong season start and shown continued growth each outing
They have had an exceptional Movember to date taking 7 of a possible 8 points

November 7,2015- Game 4 vs Elmvale Coyotes 1
The Coyotes made their first visit to Oro bring a similar sized roster to ours
The game flow was back and forth until late first when Robert took charge ripping home a blast to get us on the board with the helper from Peter
Jesse followed up less than a minute picking up Brodie's rebound to cash in an in tight marker
2-0 Oro after 1
Come 2nd Oro continued the attack and after Jesse turned the puck over as Elmvale attempted  to leave their zone,Peter picked up the puck at the blueline, stepped in high slot to wrist a hard low shot blocker side marker to give us a commanding lead
Elmvale had their chances this match but were thwarted time again by stifling D
Cassie and Peter form a big ,dependable pair.
Peter likes to rush the puck and take some offensive chances where Cassie is stay at home shut down D with and excellent first pass
A great combination who use their long sticks to great affect and have developed chemistry in this early season.
Wes and Caelan may be the more diminutive but are two of the smoothest skaters on the team
They play off each other on rush attempts and when challenged use both speed and tempered aggression to snuff out enemy attacks with aplomb.
As a group the foursome gave Owen great protection this match and kept shots to the outside where the Big O cooly directed pucks to the corner or snagged them with his golden glove.
This was a penalty filled contest, although not very rough, and their was much special team play throughout
Come third Caelan kept the puck in nicely from the blue line, dumping it deep where Ty won a board battle and fed Robert in the mid slot who did a spinorama shot all in one motion to notch his second of the contest
Shortly thereafter Bo challenged the D turning the puck over for a breakaway and made no mistake burying an unassisted beauty.
5-0 and our team let their foot off the gas the last few minutes and Owen was challenged to make some big stops
Sadly Elmvale scored on a partial breakaway with just over a minute left to steal his shutout bid
A funny footnote;all three of Oro's victories to this point have been delivered by a score of 5-1
Not too shabby.... and another superb team effort that this group can be proud of
Final
Oro 5- Elmvale-1

November 8, 2015- Game 5- at Wasaga Stars 2
On the road for a late tilt and this time we hit the beach...with our parkas
Our second match against this squad on the season and it didn't take long for us to note their improved play.
That said Oro began the game strong and took the play to Wasaga owning the better zone time and shots on goal
The problem was, Wasaga's big D took control of the slot and cleared any rebounds quickly with the vast majority of our shots coming from outside this key scoring area
Wasaga had their chances on the counterpunch and slipped their speedy centers behind the D on occassion.
Owen had to come up big more than once to keep the game knotted at zeros after 1
Second period we began to get better chances from inside the slot
Oro's continued peppering and net drive created some glorious scoring opportunities but Wasaga's two tenders were equal to the task taking away the low ice for rebounds and frustrating our shooters
Wasaga got on the board late second to carry a 1-0.

Early third an Oro took to the powerplay
They absolutely dominated Wasaga and the puck never left the zone for 1:50 seconds of fury
Through this onslaught we had 7 shots on goal,4 shots wide,a post and a wide open net a that skipped a stick.
It left our shooters scratching their heads..."what more can we do?"
The answer,as is usually the case against hot tenders,is to direct hard shots at the net and crash the crease
Which is exactly how Jesse broke the zero
Wes carried the puck into the ozone, weaving his way through traffic
He ran into the berlin wall high slot and was chopped ,but directed his shot on goal for the rebound which came right to Jesse, who as all coaches implore their wingers, was keeping pace and driving the net stick on the ice.
He made no mistake in jamming home the 5 footer to finally get Oro the goal they so deserved.
A simple play it seemed, but one so often rewarded for doing the little things right... and consistently

Snakebitten no more, Oro seemed buoyed and turned up the heat
One minute later Ty battled a turnover deep and Wes snared it at the point. His shot was blocked and came to Robert who spun and fired a 40 foot wrister top shelf!!!!

robertgoal.png 2-1 with just three and a half minutes left on the clock.
Wasaga shortened their bench and went all power the rest of the way.... and really poured it on for the final three minutes.
Owen had to make some ridiculous stops and he was tested time and again.
They got one by him with two to go and Wasaga would have won it had he not brilliantly poke checked their sharp center on a breakaway then dove across glove on ice to either rob or thwart a wide open net in some frenetic scramble (these eyes cant see that far )
Owen was at his acrobatic best and was the key difference in preserving a 2-2 tie for our team late game.
A well earned road tie that with some puck luck and increased net drive could easily have been a decisive win
Credit to the Stars for determined play as their skating is much improved since the first game
Final
Oro 2- Wasaga 2

November 14,2015 -Game 6 vs Coldwater Wildcats 1
Missed this game sadly while working with daughter's team at Sharkfest
Will provide coaches comments/scoring data soon

November 15,2015- Game 7 vs Penetang Flames 1
Our preliminary meeting at home to the always competitive Flames squad
First impressions were...."man they are big"
Last year our Peewees played a Collingwood squad in the Championship with a 6 footer that was a huge thorn in our side; we nick-named him "Chara"
Well this Penetang team has three "Byfugliens" !
30 seconds into the game came the Flames first penalty for bodychecking which ominously signalled this would be a rough night
Undaunted, our team wasted no time in replying in the best way...by scoring on the Powerplay
Zack notched a goal by driving the net with helpers to Bo and Ty and we were off to the races
A mere 20 seconds later it was Jesse's turn from Robert and Ty for an early 2-0 lead
Then a minute later Captain Wesley picked up the puck behind his own end and went end to end in his trademark style to wire the 3rd goal all in under 3 minutes of play
Robert rounded out the first period scoring from Ty and Cassie and needless to say the Thunder came ready to play this game.
Cassie had a terrific game skating down all interlopers, competing hard on the puck and holding her ground like a champ in the crease against such big forwards.
(to be con't)
