Oro Thunder Minor Hockey

Dear Oro and Orillia Minor Hockey Members, As many of you are aware, the Oro and Orillia Minor Hockey Associations have been collaborating closely through the Rep Reorganization Committee for the past two years. During this time, the Committee has worked to navigate the ever-evolving landscape of minor hockey in Ontario. A key change that has significantly impacted our planning came in December, when the Ontario Hockey Federation (OHF) announced the removal of residency regulations for U10 and older age groups, affecting all levels of play.

Hello Thunder Families, We are happy to advise that the next step in our plan to reorganize our U10 to U18 representative hockey program with Orillia MHA is to hold a final vote.

Kraft Hockeyville is back and nominations for the 2025 program are now open! This year’s grand prize-winning community will receive $250,000 towards arena upgrades. Nominate our community before March 2nd!

Cambridge, Ontario – December 17, 2024 –The Ontario Hockey Federation (OHF) has announced a series of updates to its Player Movement Regulations to enhance the participant’s experience and accessibility, effective for the 2025–2026 hockey season. Our application to the OMHA for our Reorganization of the Oro and Orillia Rep programs was submitted. We have confirmed that it was accepted and has been transferred to OMHA lawyers for review. The OMHA will be having a Special Meeting reviewing all submissions in January.
