FUNDRAISING POLICY
Local League (LL)
Each LL team may raise up to
$6,000
(formerly $4,000) in team sponsorships and fundraising. Teams will want to try to raise as much as possible through a banner where they offer gold silver and bronze sponsorship. The last few years have proven that teams can typically raise $3000-$ 4000 by doing this.
This level of funding should generally cover the cost of three tournaments, plus some additional ice for development, etc.
Teams cannot issue receipts directly to companies. However, the attached thank you letter can be provided to sponsors.
Teams are encouraged to seek sponsorships within their own networks. Larger local businesses are already being approached by the organization for broader sponsorships.
Teams can direct any sponsorship inquiries to:
[email protected]
In addition to sponsorships, teams may also fundraise through traditional methods such as bottle drives. Questions on fundraising can be sent to:
[email protected]
The organization is currently pursuing a corporate sponsorship for new LL jerseys. LL teams are not permitted to secure their own jersey sponsors.
Each team will be provided a spreadsheet that must be submitted by March 1 which details their sponsorship and fundraising totals along with their expenses.
Rep
Each Rep team may also raise up to $6,000 in team sponsorships (also typically through a banner) and fundraising.
Teams cannot issue receipts directly to companies. However, the attached thank you letter can be provided to sponsors.
This level of funding should be sufficient to cover the cost of three tournaments.
Rep teams are permitted to secure jersey sponsorships in addition to the above:
Up to
$4,000 total for home and away jerseys (but can also sell for any amount under this)
This may be structured as one sponsor at $4,000 or two sponsors at $2,000 each, as an example.
Sponsor logos must appear at the bottom of jerseys and comply with the organization’s equipment policy.
As the rep jerseys have already been ordered, teams will need to have sponsor logos after they receive their jerseys.
As with LL, teams are encouraged to seek sponsors within their own networks, as larger local businesses are being approached by the organization.
Teams can direct any sponsorship inquiries to:
[email protected]
Teams may also run traditional fundraisers (e.g., bottle drives). Questions on fundraising can be sent to:
[email protected]
Each team will be provided a spreadsheet that must be submitted by March 1 which details their sponsorship and fundraising totals along with their expenses.
