Midgets are Champs of Woodville Tournament
Oro Midget LL took top honours on Feb 8 as champions of the Woodville Minor Hockey Tournament.
In game 1, Oro tied the host Woodville team in regulation and through the 4-player, 3-player and 2-player overtime periods. A clever play by Jacob provided him with a breakaway in the final overtime frame where he scored and sealed the victory for his team.
In game 2, Oro fell behind on quick goal by their Baltimore 1 opponents but coasted to victory with 6 unanswered goals. The championship game pitted Oro against Baltimore 1, a team that earned shutouts in both preliminary games. Oro built a 3-0 lead which they nursed to a 3-2 victory and tournament success! Congrats to all players and coaches!
