U18 LL3 (Oro Thunder Minor Hockey)

Orillia Minor Hockey and Oro Minor Hockey continue to work together in our Reorganization of our Rep Programs.   We have submitted our application together to the OMHA for approval. This is expected at their next Board Meeting. We will provide further updates with more information as soon they are available.   We are continuing to move forward in anticipation that our Reorganization will begin for the 2025-26 Spring Evaluations and season.

Hello Thunder Families, Picture day has been scheduled for Thursday December 12th, upstairs at the Oro Arena. Full equipment (no skates, no helmet) RED AWAY JERSEYS!  Teams must be there 15 mins ahead of your time slot. One free team picture will be provided to every player. Dear Oro Minor Hockey Families and Supporters,   We are thrilled to announce a significant development that will benefit both our hockey community and local businesses! The Oro Minor Hockey Association has recently finalized an agreement with the Township of Oro-Medonte to manage advertising and sponsorship opportunities at the Guthrie Arena (71 Line 4 North, corner of Highway 11 South and Line 4 North).

We are very proud that we have been providing a free goalie clinic on Wednesdays since September. Jason Hooper from the Orillia Goalie Academy runs the sessions and the attendance has been fantastic, with lots of improvement and development in goalies of all ages. The purpose of the goalie clinic is for goalie development only, it is not a shooting clinic or for the development of players.

By the very nature of the game, hockey is physical and aggressive. When a game is as fast paced as hockey, it is often inevitable that situations on the ice will affect the emotions of the spectators watching in the stands. Hockey is meant to be an enjoyable, character-building experience for players and parents alike. But one reason players and parents leave the minor hockey system is disrespectful behaviour in the arena. We must remember that children learn best by example. The 8th Annual Jack McCullough Golf Tournament, which was held on September 7th was a great success. It is held in memory of Jack McCullough and this tournament brought together golf enthusiasts for a day filled with camaraderie, laughter, and support for a great cause.  The tournament raised an impressive $3,000.00 (approx.) and the proceeds from this event will go towards supporting Oro Minor Hockey, making a positive impact in our hockey community.

Hello Oro Minor Hockey Community,   For decades, Oro Minor Hockey has proudly partnered with the Oro World Fair. Traditionally, we’ve operated a food and drink booth, but this year, we’re excited to take on a new role! Oro Minor Hockey will be assisting with the parking operations at the fair this year.
