PeeWee AE, 2014-2015 (Oro Thunder Minor Hockey)

The Oro Thunder Peewee AE won the GBMHL group after 2 hard fought and close series against Collingwood and Midland. Oro has been playing their best hockey of late. The offense has been putting relentless pressure in the other team defensive zone, creating numerous scoring chances in both series. The defense has been solid, limiting the opportunities of the other team's top players. In goal, both goalies have been rock solid, posting an impressive 1.53 GAA and 0.916 S% combined.

As expected, the series between the Thunder and the Blackhawks was a very close one. Oro took the decisive game 6-2 to win the series 3-2. It was a great team effort and the contribution from everyone was key in this series. Oro will meet the winner between Penetang and Midland in the second round of the OMHA playoffs. Penetang currently leads the series 4pts to 2pts. Game 1: 2-1 win Game 2: 7-1 win Game 3: 2-1 OT loss Game 4: 3-1 loss Game 5 : 6-2 win

The 2014-2015 Oro Thunder Peewee AE team finished tied for 1st with Midland in the Georgian Bay Minor Hockey League with a 6-0 win over Elmvale on Saturday. They were also the best defensive and most disciplined team in the league. Great effort by the boys all season long and it is well deserved. Great job by the coaching staff as well. The Thunder will start the OMHA playoffs vs a tough Collingwood team. Both teams had the best record of the league in the second half of the season and all 4 games between them were extremely close with Oro edging Collingwood 1-0-3.

Congratulations to the boys for their awesome performance at the Elmvale tournament. Despite some injuries and illnesses, they were able to play extremely well as a team and almost won the title but fell to a strong and physicial Port Perry Team. Congrats to Noah C. for winning the best goalie award at the skills competition and Bayze M. for winning best forward. Kudos to Luke K. who finished second for the fastest skater and Jacob E. who finished third in puck handling just missing the final by 0.1 sec!
