Thunder Rumbles to Early Season Victories
The Oro Thunder PeeWee 1 started the season with great aplomb winning their first two matches against familiar foes.

Midland was our first opponent last Friday and put up a great fight to the finish
Oro got on the scoreboard early in the first with a tally from Doogie and apples to Owen and Big Ben
We controlled the puck and zone play throughout much of the first two periods, and were it not for some excellent goaltending from Jake between Midland's pipes the score could have been higher.
Chaser would not be denied, however, and showed some sweet dangle to fool him twice, with helpers from Magoo and Colt 45
The D held solid and Justin was strong as we carried a 3-0 lead into the third
From there we witnessed some let-up and penalty trouble which opened the door for a Midland comeback
Two goals on opportunistic chances put the Centennials squarely back in the match
By games end, with the goalie pulled Midland swarmed our net but Justin and the D stood tall, grabbed loose pucks in frenetic scrambles, and held on to the win by the skin of our teeth
Jacob was a tour de force for our team..the Tazmanian Devil of energy was our best player that game
and led his team to compete all out every shift. Great job Taz.
Final; 3-2 Oro
Lesson learned,and off to Wasaga

This game the kids came out flying once again, buoyed by Eric's presence in our room
The Flash was all over the ice this game, leading rushes and racing back to quell odd man opportunities.
But this was a total team effort game long..and while there were some outstanding individual point tallies, the team passed and played their way to an early, insurmountable lead by sharing the puck unselfishly.
Doogie continued to lead the team in this regard, and finishers like Chaser, Owen and Taz had big games
Fast Eddie scored his first marker of the season and was head manning the puck and driving the net all night!
Awesome work Edward!!
The D moved the puck quickly and smartly and held the point with strength.
HUGE point blasts from Harry and Hayden ripped twine from 60 feet!...heads up!!
We saw great backchecking too...especially Aidan up the middle. The Roadrunner picked up where he left off last season as one of the most defensively responsible team members.
Finally,Justin was sharp when called upon(especially flashing glove to top of net late third) to earn his first shutout
Congrats buddy..we're sure there will be more !
Final:14-0 Oro
Again, superb effort Thunder and we will need to refocus as we face an early contender in the Coldwater Wildcats this Friday
