WELCOME HOME ORO THUNDER!!!
Submitted By gheatherington on Tuesday, December 16, 2014
Oro Minor Hockey Players and Parents,

The time has finally come when I am able to give you some terrific news.
As of this Saturday December 20th with a few exceptions for the odd game or practise that was not able to be moved, the Oro Thunder will be moving back into the Oro Community Centre!
I would like to thank all of you for your patience, support and understanding over the last three and a half months.
There are several people in our organization whose efforts combined with all of the commitment and dedication ...

from everyone involved in our Association have enabled us to conquer this challenge. Our VP, Steve Posluns has been of tremendous assistance by dotting i's and crossing t's on numerous ice contracts and other matters. Our Scheduler, Darren Luoma has organized ice almost flawlessly in all of the places we have visited for the past months. Chris Emerton was instrumental in helping establish ice contacts early on in the process. Treasurer, Peter Grigoriadis did a fantastic job of organizing the mandatory gate fees with the help of parents from all of our teams. Referee co-ordinator, Avery Martyn did an excellent job getting refs organized for the kids games.  While all of this was taking place our other board members went about keeping the regular business of OMHA on track. All of these people are volunteers within our Association so please take the time to thank them for their efforts if you have the opportunity.

Our neighbours from Essa Township, Severn Township, the Cities of Orillia and Barrie, the Town of Innisfil, Gravenhurst, and Nottawasaga Resort were all tremendous to deal with and were there for us in a difficult time and we thank them as well. Thanks also of course to the Township of Oro-Medonte and Mayor Hughes, and Shawn Bins for keeping us updated on the renovation.
Finally, thank you to the players, the parents and all of our coaches, managers and trainers for your fantastic commitment to Oro Minor Hockey, our community and the great game of hockey! This summer I was sure that the character of all of you would help us get over what seemed like an insurmountable task and we did it. Coaches please remind the kids in the next while that Minor Hockey parents are truly the best parents in the world.
Have a very Merry Christmas and I will see you at the rink!

Bob Drury
President
Oro Minor Hockey Association
