O Captain, My Captain!
Oro was at home to Coldwater on Saturday afternoon for game 2 of the Round Robin playdowns and continued to peak with their most dominant performance of the season

We seem to have Coldwater's number this season,as they are a very good team with strong goaltending but we seem to always rise to the challenge they present.
This day belonged to two Captain's..and Jacob E was a tour de force as was our newest assistant Fletch.
The two combined on fabulous passing plays and put on a clinic all game long...simply mesmerizing to watch
In the end Cappy had the extremely rare double hatty as everything he touched found the back of the net,be it with hard wristers,one timers on great set-ups or smoothly speedy dekes. A game to remember Jacob!!!
Mark was driving the net day long and scored our fifth goal by going to the tough areas and picking up a rebound
Sky,Evan and Edward were flying the wings all day,and Edward made several great on the fly passes to head man the puck or find the high slot man. Not rewarded on the scoresheet,but awesome game Fast Eddie!
Cassie played wing to start in the absence of Bo and Zack and was charging up ice with her speed and size finding great crease position for a cross icer from Aidan to bang home.
The D was rock solid game long,only once allowing the fast Coldwater centers to break free,but of course the Big O was there as he's been all season to shut the door on the breakaway. Owen's 8th shutout in his first season between the pipes..remarkable. You had big assists from Colt,Caelan,Cassie,Ty and Fletch for the light workout in this one.
Aidan,as he's done so well all year,was always third D back helping pick off interlopers and shutting down the Wildcat attack,while enjoying a four point game.
Fletch decided to unleash his offensive prowess in this match and was all over both ends of the ice, controlling the tempo and threading passes with surgeon like precision.
A completely dominant performance capped by a team record 9 points.
Perhaps he was buoyed by a special pregame moment.
Ty had spoken to me some time ago about wanting to give Fletch an A,but I explained there can only be three captains on the ice at any time.
He then offered to give Fletch his letter noting his amazing contribution to our squad from game one.
In the end,he decided to share the honour starting yesterday for the playoffs,and Fletch will wear it for all home games.
A very touching moment and never prouder son, especially because this was your idea.
In the end though,team leaders don't always wear a letter..there simply aren't enough to go around.
Colt has been our most dependant and consistent defensive defenseman all year,never waivering with his effort and leads where it counts most..on the ice.
Caelan is likely our most courageous player,who despite his diminutive size, is fiercely competitive and ready to come to a teammate's assistance at any time.
Cassie has grown into a team leader,and can play any position with confidence and success...she even tried goal!
Bo has elevated his game to become a go to two way winger who has not complained about playing out of his preferred position.
And Owen took on a position that we desperately needed filled and has steadily become one the best keepers in our entire league..but only through dedication, hard work and a commitment  to listen and learn.
Team leadership is seen throughout our lineup on every given day,and we encourage all players to lead in the best way they can..through their best efforts on ice and off.

To borrow from Walt, this is the goal we seek in the not too distant future

O Captain! my Captain! rise up and hear the bells;
Rise up—for you the flag is flung—for you the bugle trills;
For you bouquets and ribbon'd wreaths—for you the shores a-crowding;
For you they call, the swaying mass, their eager faces turning;
The ship is anchor'd safe and sound, its voyage closed and done;
From fearful trip, the victor ship, comes in with object won

For all our Captains,letter or not.
